Owner & Head Trainer
Kathy Dewar
Kathy grew up in Wisconsin and trained with Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Kraut. Kathy has had a very successful career, including numerous Grand Prix wins and experience up to the 1.55m level. When Kathy moved out on her own, she purchased a chestnut thoroughbred, 'McGrath'. They won their first Welcome Stake and Grand Prix in the same weekend and Chestnut Hill Farm was named in his honor.
Kathy's best Grand Prix horse to date, Spitfire, was purchased through Kyle's connection with Bruce Goodin. They had a long and illustrious career together, winning over 10 Grand Prixs. Bruce's mentorship and connections are still a vital aspect of Chestnut Hill farm today, as Kyle and Kathy meet him in Europe several times a year to import horses for clients and sales.
